BN-354 Gold Peacock Necklace
1940's Czech glass intaglio with a gold and red peacock design embossed on the back of the glass. This gorgeous glass stone was starting to show its age with a little of the brick red lacquer wearing off around the edges of the back of the glass. Now that it's encased in this pendant it won't deteriorate further. It's a super rare stone and so stunningly beautiful. It's just under 1 inch in diameter.
I've bezel set this piece in full 14k yellow gold, including the tiny droplets around the bezel. The backing features what I call a "deckled edge" meant to look rustically untrimmed like handmade sheets of paper.
The chain I've chosen to use on this one is machine made 14k gold filled paperclip chain with a lobster clasp for an adjustable fit up to 20 inches. The links are 1/2 inch long each. Adorned with a carnelian tube bead carefully selected to match the red in the pendant.
