This piece of Czech glass made in the 1920's is an example of a technique called Intaglio. The molded design is a relief on the back of the glass which is painted (black in this case) and then a white lacquer is painted over the entire surface.

Egyptian details possibly depicting some sort of Pharaonic rights or rituals give this a classic Egyptian Revival look. Chain is sterling silver with a lobster clasp and is adjustable 16-18 inches.
